Natural beauty products: a treat for your skin

Natural beauty products: a treat for your skin

Picture this: you are suffering from a skin condition, it can be acne, dandruff, burns and itching or something else. Your grandmother sees this and recommends you to apply a mixture of some leaves and flowers, or tells you to put something on your face or body to treat your condition. You brush her advice off and roll your eyes playfully; smiling at how cute your grandmother is, and how old her thinking is. You laugh at the thought of some leaves and flowers and fruit magically healing your condition, when there's literally skincare made specifically for the condition that you are suffering from. We've all been there, right? I mean, it's just a flower. How can it possibly be good for your skin? Right? Well…you're actually wrong. Turns out, your grandmother was actually right. Those leaves, flowers and fruits that you didn't think could heal you have been used for generations in medicine to cure and heal people.

And to think that the same nature won't be good for your skin, is somewhat wrong. Don't believe us? Well, it doesn't hurt to learn something new, does it? Here are some amazing benefits of using organic, and natural products for your skin that you might have not known yet. But first, what does organic skincare mean? Organic skincare products are made from natural ingredients. Straight from mother nature. They are made without adding any artificial chemicals, or any genetically modified material.

Organic skincare products are made from natural ingredients. Straight from mother nature.

1. First and the most important thing is safety: Natural and organic skincare is the safest thing that you can put on your face. They don't have any chemical in them, hence these products are safe as they won't irritate your skin. And as we all already know, not every chemical is for everyone. Some people get irritated by some kinds of chemicals, which can lead to swelling, itching, burns and much more, and that is unsafe. Ingredients such as Triclosan, Formaldehyde, propylene glycol (PG), Butylene glycol are extremely harmful for your skin and should be avoided at any cost. On the other hand, natural skincare is suitable for everyone. And if you still don't like them, at least they won't cause you any trouble unlike products with chemicals in them.

2. They are rich in nutrition: One of the easiest ways to differentiate synthetic products and organic products is to look at their ingredients. And as you know, they have nothing in common. When looking at synthetic products you can easily find parabens, oxybenzone, phthalates, carbon black and many more in almost every product . And the truth is, these ingredients don't provide any kind of nutrition to your skin but rather mess it up instead. On the other hand, although not every natural ingredient is good, there are hundreds of other natural ingredients that are great for your skin. They outweigh synthetic ingredients in their benefits. Ingredients like green tea extract, soy, vitamin c, witch hazel, vitamin e, willow herb, and everyone's favourite aloe vera are undoubtedly the best food that you can give to your skin. Most organic and natural skincare products are made with things that you usually eat. So if you can eat them, there's definitely a lot of benefits they can give you if you apply them on your skin as well. I mean if you can't eat it, why put it on your skin?

3. They are environmentally friendly and sustainable. I know what you're thinking, "ha! As if this wasn't obvious". I know, right? Using natural skincare products is one of the best ways you can actively contribute towards helping our planet. Synthetic ingredients put a great deal of stress on the environment in worse ways than we could imagine. These chemicals when come in contact with nature in any way cause harm to nature. Triclosan, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Siloxanes (Silicones) found in synthetic skincare is extremely harmful for the environment. They not only are harmful for the lands but also the marine life. On the other hand, ingredients such as aluminum and lead require mining. And mining isn't really a good thing for the environment. Mining produces a lot of pollution and thus leaves behind a negative carbon footprint. Unlike synthetic products, natural ingredients are naturally made and don't really cause any harm to the environment.

4. They don't harm animals: The testing on animals is already a hot topic in the synthetic skincare community. Synthetic skincare companies use animals as if they are some kind of experimental object on a daily basis. Animals are tortured every single day to test these products on so that the company can know whether the ingredients or product is safe to use or not. Synthetic skin care companies are really not that ethical. And while many companies are now turning towards being more vegan and cruelty-free, there's still a long way to go before the torture of these animals completely stop. On the other hand organic and natural skincare companies don't really use animals as their test products. They are completely cruelty-free and ethical.
